First, thank you Robin for once again opening your home tonight to host this event. It’s so obvious why you are our “Ambassador of Fun”.
Here’s a little recap for those of you who missed the fun:
We were privileged to recognize Jennifer Cullenbine who celebrates her 25th year in Rotary tomorrow. Congratulations Jennifer, looking forward to many more years of your dedication and leadership.
The question of “Where in the world is Madan” was answered with his attendance tonight and update on his exciting and new job which unfortunately may take him from us next year but in the meantime, he’s still here and with us and will always be considered part of the Milpitas Rotary family.
Tonight’s Annual Chili cook-off was well attended. Even though we only had three entries. There was a major shift this year in that our clear winner was Cheryl Jordan. Congratulations Cheryl and thanks to those who presented a Chili in this tough competitive and fun annual challenge.
In her new role as Chili Champion Cheryl is now tasked with the responsibility to teach “Chili 101” at a date TBD for those members who are not familiar with Chili making. I anticipate new entries in our 2027 Chili Cook-off as a result of this effort.
“Apple Pie Debbie” once again treated us to another amazing home-made Apple pie and Club Patriot Frank supplied cookies to make sure no one left without a little sugar fix. Robert seems to have an endless supply of Ice Cream for which Kelly provided toppings in addition to some Chow Mein and Fortune Cookies. Hon provided amazing Shrimp and authentic home-made Shrimp Crackers that were so good I snatched the remaining few crackers for myself. Larry provided his signature CornBread and Mishelle provided some Carbs with Potato Salad.
Today, 6/30/26 marks the end of Rotary year 2025-2026, we have a lot to be proud of but there is a lot more to do to re-energize and grow our club in 2026-2027 as we celebrate our 75th anniversary. As co-president along with co-president Armando Gomez we hope to make this an exciting new year of membership growth, marquis community service programs, and a solid foundation for Milpitas Rotary for years to come.
